Yesterday I had this fun lightbulb moment. I’ve been having a lot of creative insights lately, so I suddenly had a great idea for a Valentine’s day inspired makeup look. So I tried it out. Because the idea was good, but let’s just see what the execution looks like. So today I’ll show you what my great idea looks like when it’s actually on my face and I’ll show you how to do it yourself. Let’s go!
Details on all used products can be found at the bottem of this post.
Let’s start off with the base. I just did my face as I would usually do it. I started with the MAX&MORE luminating face primer. I wore the Cien Foundation in 010 Shell together with my Catrice Allround Coverstick concealer and my NYC Liquid Concealer. I did my eyebrows using a black eyeshadow from Essence and blocked them using the NYC concealer again. I set it all using my Essence Mattifying Powder.
The first thing I put on my eyes was the MAX&MORE eye primer, so all colours will look better and stay on better. I put the colour Love that of the James Charles palette in my crease and used Pinkity drinkity as a transition colour.
The next thing I did was ‘cutting the crease’, but in a heart-shaped fashion. I did this using my NYC concealer and a small, flat brush.
I filled in this heart first using Skip of the James Charles palette, and then I put the glittery pink colour of the NYX Ultimate Multifinish Shadow Palette in the version USP05 Electric. The colour is pictured below.
Then I put Love that in the outer corner of my lower lash line and Skip on towards the middle and inner corner. I also decided to put Skip in my eyebrows to pull everything together a bit. I didn’t make my eyebrows pink entirely, but the black brows just didn’t fit the look entirely.
To finish the eyemakeup I put the glittery pink shade of the NYX Ultimate palette in version USP07 Smoke Screen in the middle of the heart. I also used this colour as a highlight, so I put it in my inner corner and on my brow bone. This shade is pictured below. To finish it I put on some mascara.
And for the last step I put all details on my face. I contoured my face using the MAX&MORE bronzing powder. I put the Essence blush on my cheeks and nose and I drew hearts on my cheeks using Skip out of the James Charles palette. I used the glittery, light pink shade out of the NYX USP07 palette as a highlight on my cheeks, nose and cupid’s bow as well. I finished the entire look by putting on MAX&MORE lipstick in the colour Pretty Pink.
And that’s the entire look! It’s a lot of pink… A lot… But I like it. The eyes don’t look half as good as my mind had imagined them, but that’s fine. I’m still practising doing makeup and I’ll get better eventually. I hope you like this look, and if you get some inspiration from it, let me know! Also: is there any kind of look you want me to try? Let me know! I’ll see you next Sunday.
