Review: Revolution Re-Loaded Palette in Velvet Rose

I was in the store recently with my mum, looking for a new concealer, when I thought to myself: ‘I really need an eyeshadow palette with some neutral, basic shades.’ That’s when my eye fell on the Revolution Re-Loaded palettes. They have a couple different kinds of colour combinations, so I spent a little while thinking about which palette I wanted. Eventually I picked the Velvet Rose palette, because I loved the golden shades in it. Let’s see if it’s any good.

The packaging of all the Re-Loaded palettes is the same, and I quite like the design. It’s simple, it displays the colours nicely so you always know if you’re grabbing the right palette, and it feels sturdy. The shiny plastic makes it look a tiny bit cheap, but that’s the only downside to the packaging.

Then onto the colours. I chose this palette, because I needed a couple basic brown shades that I could grab easily if I wanted a bit more natural look. I really liked these colours, because all the brown shades have a purpose, and there are both a few redtoned shades, and a few more purpletoned shades. Also, the metallic shades are really useful if you want to make a more glam look with this palette. The colours are just really diverse and multifunctional.

These are the swatches of the first row, the first five shades. The gold shade is SO gorgeous! The matte shades in this swatch could be a bit better, but they aren’t bad.

The second row of swatches is just beautiful. What else can I say. All of the shades are creamy and have so much pigment in them. The metallic rose colour is just amazing.

And on to the last row. The matte shades are really pigmented, but the swatch makes it look like the colours might disappear when blended out. Let’s hope that’s not the case.

To really test this palette I decided to make a look with it. For this look I used colours 1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 11, and 13. For the cut crease I used the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer in Alabaster. I really enjoy working with these colours. They are creamy, easy to blend, and they barely leave any fall-out. They also don’t fade when blended.

I barely have anything else left to say, other than: this palette is amazing. Especially for the price you pay for it, these eyeshadows are really high quality. I would definitely recommend this if you want some great neutrals! I guess that’s all I have to say about this palette, it’s just great. I will see you guys next time!

The Revolution Re-Loaded palettes are available at Kruidvat for €4,99.
