Review: Essence All About Matt! Fixing Loose Powder

I’ve been using the Essence All About Matt! Fixing Compact Powder for a couple years now. I just started on my fourth pan of the stuff and it’s definitely one of my favourite makeup products. I use it in almost every look. However, when I’m being fancy and baking my face, this powder is a bit tough to use. You know what would be great for that? A loose powder! And, you guessed it, Essence recently released a loose powder from my favourite line. So of course I had to get it. And of course I had to review it. Let’s get into it!

Let’s talk about the packaging first. I love that they matched it exactly to the compact powder. The design is very simplistic, but still fun. It also stands out from their other products. And to then match the two packagings to eachother was a great idea.

The jar feels sturdy, but it doesn’t feel very expensive. The plastic makes it feel a bit cheap. However, you’re also not paying that much for this. So I think pricewise the plastic is perfectly fine. The design of the jar is just like every other loose powder jar. A simple wide, flat jar with a screw-on lid and a shaker lid. Nothing special there, but very practical.

The powder itself feels very soft. It does feel very similar to the compact powder. The powder is easily poured into the lid, to use with a brush or sponge. I almost like this powder better to just apply all over with a fluffy brush. When I use the compact powder I need to go over spots twice sometimes to get the effect I want. The loose powder applies a bit thicker, which gives me the right effect in just one swipe. Also for baking this powder is great. It keeps my concealer in place and really melts into it. I like it.

In conclusion, I think this is a great loose powder. It does what it’s supposed to do, and it’s a great price. A low-budget-lover’s dream. I want to thank you for reading and I’ll see you next time!

Essence All About Matt! Fixing Loose Powder is available for €3,89
