Recently Essence has released a statement showing all their new products for spring 2020, and just like everyone else I was very excited! Now they have actually released four of these new products on their website, of which one is the 24Ever Ink Liner. I got to try out this liner early, so I thought I would give you all the ins and outs about it, since this liner will soon be released in stores as well. You might want to know if this is something you want to get before you see it in stores, so let’s get into it!
Let’s talk about the packaging. This eyeliner pen is a very thin and long pen, which I like. Thicker pens are harder to handle precisely in my opinion. This one also has a rubber part near the tip, which makes it easier and more comfortable to hold. I enjoy this packaging. I mean, you can’t really do anything special and groundbreaking with an eyeliner pen, since there is just not much to work with. However, I like the rubber details and the thickness, which also give it more of a pen vibe and make it easier to handle.
As you can see, the 24Ever liner has a very thin and long tip. It doesn’t widen out much at the bottom but it stays pretty thin overall. It’s a nice size tip to be able to draw a thin liner with a pointy wing. Sometimes liners are very thick, which makes it harder to draw a thin line. Not necessarily a problem, if you’re into thicker liners, but I like some diversity in my looks, so sometimes I like a thinner liner.
To show you how thin this liner can go, I’ve scribbled a bit on my hand. The bottom two lines show the thinnest and thickest this liner can go. As you can see, it can draw a very thin line. That’s mostly due to the tip of the liner actually giving a lot of pigment. Lots of times the very tips of liner pens dry out, so you can’t draw a sharp wing anymore. Right now, I’ve had this liner for a month and it still has a very pigmented tip and isn’t dried out at all, but I don’t know what the future may hold of course. For now at least, the tip is very pigmented and is able to draw thin lines.
The liner applies very smoothly and has great pigment. It leaves an amazing black line at the first swipe. It is very comfortable to draw with. The liner also stays on very well. After a night drinking with friends and cycling in the cold, it was still on exactly the same as when I applied it. It is also waterproof, which is very useful for someone like me who gets watery eyes easily. It’s just great quality!
In conclusion, this is a great eyeliner pen. The fact that the actual tip is so extremely pigmented and not dried out is amazing. It has great pigment and is easy to use. Considering budget eyeliners, this is definitely one of the best quality liners I’ve used. I recommend getting one of these! However, if you’re able to, try the one you’re buying out in the store to make sure you’re not getting one that is already a bit dry. Just a lil’ tip. I want to thank you for reading and I’ll see you next time!
