I Used the Morphe X James Charles Palette for a Week!

A few weeks ago I posted an article where I used the Conspiracy palette for a week (find it here). Well, I had so much fun making that post and experimenting with one palette, that I decided to do it again. This time I used the Morphe x James Charles palette. I’ve had this palette since it came out I think, and it was the palette that got me more into makeup and colourful looks. I think it’s a great palette and it’s very versatile, but I don’t grab it on the regular. So, I wanted to use it for a week straight and see what kinds of different looks I could make. I managed to make a look for every work day, including a bonus look! So, if you want to see the versatility of this palette put to use, keep on reading!

Day 1

When I do such a lengthy article, I like to plan ahead and draw out my makeup ideas in advance. When I drew out this idea, I imagined it as a very neutral and everyday look. While it still is exactly that, it also is a bit darker than I imagined. But it’s still cute I think! For this I blended Tea all around my eyes and Benny in my outer corner and crease. Then I put Guac on my lid and Ringlight in my inner corner. Finish with some mascara and lipbalm, and you have a cute everyday look, with just an extra bit of glam.

Day 2

For day two I matched my eyeshadow to my shirt. I was inspired by an older look of @glambyflo on instagram. It’s a very simple look, so it looks very clean. The only thing that got me looking at my face over and over again was the black tightline. I don’t think I’ve used a black eyepencil on my waterline in over four years! It looked really weird, but I liked it a lot! For this look I applied Rusted all around my eyes. Then I did a half cut crease, but I rounded it off near my outer corner, instead of blending it outwards. I filled this cut crease up with Canvas to prevent it from creasing. Then I applied a black wing and a black eyepencil on my waterline. The eyeliner is the Essence 24Ever Ink Liner and the pencil is the Essence Long Lasting Eyepencil in 01 Black Fever. I blended this out a bit by blending a tiny bit of Spooky underneath my waterline. Lashes are the Wispies by Ardell. The inner corner highlight is a mix of Ringlight and So Good. On the lips I’m wearing Max & More Longlasting Lipstick in 321 Creme Brulee.

Day 3

I think this is my favourite look of the past week! I just really wanted to combine some purple and blue, because why not. I got a lot of compliments on my makeup that day as well, so I guess it was a good decision! I first blended Playground from the inner corner moving outwards through the crease. Then I blended Escape in the outer corner of the crease and the lid. I did a half cut crease and applied Hello on the inner corner of the lid and Artistry in the centre. I also blended Escape underneath my eye and put Ringlight again on the inner corner. I put a purple eye pencil on the water line. I used the Essence Long Lasting Eyepencil in 27 Purple Rain. For lipstick I reconnected with my favourite lipstick from a year ago: the Catrice Ultimate Matt Lipstick in 010 Coffee, MATTmoiselle?.

Day 4

For the fourth day I was inspired by @aleksandraa.lu on Instagram. I’m not including a full face of this look because, even though I was very proud of how the look turned out, I didn’t think it went well with my face. I don’t know, the look just didn’t suit me that well. But that’s the fun of makeup! You can just try different things and see what works for you. Maybe it was also because I had my hair in a ponytail, and I just don’t like that. Anyways, for this look I applied Cola in my entire crease and under my eye. I deepened the outer corner and undereye a bit with Spooky. Then I did a half cut crease, applying A Capella in the inner corner of the lid and towards the outer corner of the lid, kind of in a halo fashion. Then I applied Shook to the centre of the lid and Ringlight to the inner corner. I applied a bit of eyeliner and then falsies from the Action, and on my waterline I’m wearing the Essence Kajal Pencil in 04 White.

Day 5

I’m going to get real with you guys. For the last day of the week I had planned a very colourful and intriguing look, but I just didn’t feel like doing it. I was also taking outfit pictures for an upcoming post that day and I had already done my makeup for that. Then I realized that I had used only the James Charles palette for that look, so I decided to take a picture of that look. Because I did use the right palette for the right day, it counts haha. So for this soft, natural look I blended Mary in my crease and outer corner and under my eye. Then on the lid I applied a mix of Sister and Literally. In the inner corner I applied Ringlight (again, lol). Just apply a bit of mascara and the Catrice Ultimate Matt Lipstick (also again, lol) and the look is done!

Bonus look!

So, usually I plan five looks for these posts. Just because I usually wear makeup on workdays, and not always during the weekend. Mostly because I don’t have any parties to go to now, haha. Anyways, today I have one extra look for you, because I just filmed a video using just the James Charles palette, on my entire face. Yes, you read that right. I used one eyeshadow palette to do my entire face. This video will be up next friday, but I wanted to show you (my loyal readers) the look in advance.

I won’t tell you which shades I used for what, because I used a lot. And you’ll see all the details on that in next friday’s video. Including the extreme struggle to use only eyeshadow for my entire look. So stay tuned for that!

I had a lot of fun using one palette again, because it makes me see the full potential of the palette and helps me make good use of my eyeshadow collection. I’m definitely planning on doing this again with some of my other palettes. Let me know if you enjoy this concept and if you want to see more! For now, I want to thank you for reading, and I’ll see you next time!
