I recently got a new food addiction: chai tea lattes. Whenever I can order them somewhere, I will. They are just really delicious and they go great with breakfast and lunch dishes. You can always make me happy with a chai latte. That’s why I decided to fabricate my own simple recipe, so I can have yummy chai lattes at home as well. Today I’m sharing my recipe, so let’s get into it!
What do we need?
- A big tea glass or mug
- One bag of chai tea
- Soy milk
- A small pan
- A whisk
Boil a bit of water in a kettle. When it’s boiling, pour it into your glass. I always fill about a quarter of the glass with hot water. Put the chai tea bag in your water (I use Pickwick Spicy Chai tea for my lattes).
While the tea bag is soaking, pour about three quarters of the cup worth of soy milk into a small pan. You can also use a milk foamer for this, but I don’t own one so I’m going the oldfashioned route. Turn on the heat. Add about two teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of cinnamon (or however much you like) to the milk. Start whisking vigorously while the milk is heating up. This makes sure the sugar and cinnamon are well combined, plus it creates a nice foam. When the milk is getting hot and you have enough foam, turn off the heat.
Take the chai tea bag out of your cup. Pour in the hot milk mixture and make sure you get a nice foam layer. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon on top of your foam, and you’re done!
It is the easiest way to make a chai latte, and when you’ve found a chai tea that you really love this is the yummiest latte you can make. I tend to drink one once a day when I’m working from home. It’s my current favourite drink and I’m happy I found a way to create one myself, because always buying one out is getting too expensive. This really is the student version, lol. I hope you enjoy! I want to thank you for reading, and I’ll see you next time!
