Recreating My 2019 Festival Outfit

Exactly a year ago this weekend, I was singing my lungs out to my favourite music at the Zwarte Cross festival. It’s the only big festival I’ve ever been to and it’s the exact vibe I’m looking for. Very casual, smaller bands, but so, so many different styles of music to choose from. It’s also definitely not one of those Coachella type festivals where everybody dresses up. So no, I wasn’t wearing a crazy, glitter-filled outfit last year. This year we were supposed to go again, but of course this couldn’t happen due to the current crisis. It’s sad, but what can you do about it? We’ll just have to do with reminiscing and looking forward to next year. So I thought, why not recreate last year’s outfit to live in that moment again?

Four Reasons Why You Should Shop Secondhand

I am a big fan of secondhand fashion. It almost only has pros. Literally the only con to it is that sometimes it’s hard to find specific items. But nowadays even that is easier to do with all the secondhand clothing apps going around, where you can search exactly for what you need. So, with a thing that has so little cons, what exactly are the pros? Today I tell you four big reasons why shopping secondhand clothing is such a great thing. Let’s get into it!

Fashion Challenge: Dressing Monochromatically for a Week

I just love setting challenges for myself every once in a while, and not just challenges that have to do with makeup. I am crazy about fashion and I just love to come up with new ways to combine my items. I already did a fashion challenge where I dressed like cartoon characters for a week, and that was a lot of fun. So last week I challenged myself to another weekly challenge: dressing monochromatically every day for a week straight! I created five different, monochromatic outfits, one for every workday. If you’re wondering why I only do five: I wear almost only pajamas on the weekends, so there are no outfits for saturday and sunday. Seems logical, right? Anyways, let’s see how I did creating only monochromatic outfits!

How to Style Mom Jeans Three Different Ways

I recently bought myself my first pair of mom jeans. I had been looking for a good pair for a while that was my style and actually fit my body well, but I hadn’t really found one. Until I stumbled upon this amazing pair with adorable little ducks embroidered on them. It can’t be more me! In this post I wanted to show how versatile the mom jean actually is. It seems like a very casual pant, but you can definitely dress it up a bit as well. So today I styled this pair of jeans in three different styles of outfits: classy, grungy, and more streetwear-like. Let’s get into it!

How to Style a Statement Coat | Outfit of the Day

At the beginning of 2020, when it was still possible, I went thriftshopping again. I found a couple fun pieces, but the best thing that I found was this amazing blue trenchcoat. It was totally up my alley: colourful, patterned, a total crazy statement piece. I love anything that’s over the top! However, I know a lot of you don’t always like such in-your-face clothing items. Because, to be fair, they’re kind of hard to style. Especially for me, since my wardrobe consists for 90% of crazy patterned and coloured items. Sometimes it’s just a bit of a struggle to turn those statement items into a fun outfit, so that’s why I wrote this post. I managed to style this crazy, blue coat in a very fun way (if I may say so myself), and I wanted to share it with you to give you an example on how to style a statement coat. Let’s get into it!

Dressing Like Cartoon Characters for a Week

Lately I’ve been really excited about experimenting with my outfits and coming up with different outfit challenges. One thing that always has interested me is Disney bounding, and I’ve already done some articles on that (find them here and here). However, my wardrobe is not yet fit for a lot of Disney bounding. Therefore, I wanted to try and see which cartoon characters, that aren’t necessarily Disney, I am able to create with my own clothes. I came up with five different characters for each workday: Kim Possible, Misty (Pokémon), Spinelli (Recess), Phineas, and Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls). I’ll give you all the details on the outfits and talk a bit about my look on bounding. Let’s get into it!

Three Outfits Using Only Thrifted Clothing Items

As you might know, I’m very passionate about thriftshopping. First of all, I think it’s such a fun thing to do. I love just searching for the cutest items together with my boyfriend, and when you find something great it’s the best feeling. Second of all, it’s so budget friendly. I’ve been able to really expand my wardrobe lately, without having to spend a lot of money on it. We love that! And finally, it’s very sustainable. I think it’s very important to do what you can to help the environment, therefore I barely shop in stores anymore. I only go to stores when I need a specific thing that I haven’t been able to find in thriftstores. And since I’m so passionate about shopping second-hand, I thought I’d show you some outfits that I like to wear, to show you what cute things you can do with second-hand items. Let’s get into it!

My Fashion Wishlist – Fashion Inspiration and Thriftshop Search Ideas

I know recently my blog has kind of been flooded with Essence related articles. It’s been a lot, so I decided it’s time to switch things up and talk about other stuff as well. Two weeks ago I uploaded a video to YouTube where I reorganized my entire closet and went through all my clothes, shoes and accessories. If you haven’t watched that yet, I recommend you do, since it’s a lot of fun (find it here)! Anyways, I went through all my clothes and now know exactly what I do and don’t have, so I’ve been compiling a list of clothing items that I don’t yet have but do want. So today I’m sharing with you my fashion wishlist, let’s get into it!

Turning Myself Into an E-Girl… Again…

Almost one year ago, I uploaded my most viewed article to date: Transforming Myself Into a TikTok E-Girl for Entertainment. For some reason, I thought it would be fun to make a fool of myself on the world wide web. And for some other reason, I thought it would be fun to do it all over again. Since the definition of the e-girl has changed a bit over the past year, I just felt like it was necessary to do an updated version of this look. So, let’s get into it!
