As you know, I love sharing personal bits every once in a while. I’ve been thinking of doing ‘day in my life’ photologs, to show you a bit more of what my life is like. And what better day to start with than my birthday? The 3rd of October I turned 20 and I did a lot of fun stuff. Today I’m taking you with me. Let’s get into it!Continue reading “A Day in my Life: My 20th Birthday!”
Climate change scares me a lot. I’ve been looking into it a bit more lately. It scares me to hear that if we don’t change our ways, the effects will be irreversible in 12 years. It scares me that I might not even have a future, because by the time I’m that old the earth will be mostly destroyed. And most of all, I’m scared that I care about these things and that so many people don’t seem to care at all. So today I wanted to shine a little light on this matter, in the hope that it makes one person care a little bit more.
Some time ago, my parents and I were talking to my neighbor who has been in and out of hospital a couple of times now. It was a very casual conversation, but of course, being my neighbor, he was giving some real life lessons. He kept talking about needing something that drives him, otherwise life would not be worth living and it wouldn’t be fun. That comment kept me thinking for a while. What drives me to get up everyday?
I have been wanting to talk about mental health for a while now. In some personal articles I have mentioned that I struggle with life a bit sometimes. Because I am definitely not the only one, and there are people who experience a lot worse, I thought it would be good to open up this conversation. A lot of people on social media have been adressing the stigma around mental health lately. People like Jessie Paege share a lot about their own mental health and are trying to delete the taboo around this topic. One of the most important steps of improving your mental health, is to talk about your problems. It gets heavier and heavier to keep them to yourself. That’s why it’s important that social media is getting more open to discuss things like this and that’s why I want to address it today as well.
I have been on Instagram for quite a long time now. I think I started using it immediately when I was old enough to do so. I always loved using the app to express myself and there was even a period of time where I had 5 different Instagram accounts at the same time. All for different purposes. The different communities that I encountered were all lovely, but each of them had their downside. Since I’ve been using Instagram quite a lot lately for my blog, I’ve been thinking more about how it used to be. I had a couple ‘revelations’, as one might say, and I thought it would be fun to chat a bit about this concept and my opinions on it. We all know I love sharing my opinions.
I’ve spent a lot of my free time watching YouTube lately. I don’t really have series that I’m watching at the moment, so YouTube is much easier to watch than Netflix. Of course it isn’t strange that I have a list compiled by now consisting of all my favourite YouTubers. Today I’ll give you this list with a little info about everyone and why I love watching them so much. Let’s get into it!
You’re probably thinking: “It’s already February and you’re just now posting about your 2019 goals?” Yes. That is correct. Usually I don’t really have New Year’s Resolutions™, mainly because January 1st is such a weird day to start new habits. Christmas break is still going, there are still a couple of Christmas and birthday parties, and in one or two weeks finals will start. There is just no space and time to think about what I want to achieve and how I’m going to do that. And definitely no time to actually do it. So, now the first month of 2019 is over, I have finally established my goals for this year and I can actually start working on them. Let’s see what they are.
